DIY Tie-Around Choker

Hello lovelies! Recently, I've seen a lot of tie-around choker necklaces on bloggers, shopping websites, and random girls from Tumblr. After stumbling across this image today, I decided to DIY one really quickly - it's a simple piece that adds to any outfit!

Here's what you'll need:
1) leather or suede cord
2) two metal end clips/clamps (not sure what they're called)
3) one metal jump ring
4) one metal clasp
5) scissors
6) tiny pliers
7) measuring tape

Step 1: Measure around your neck where you want the choker to hit, then add 10 inches to that measurement. Cut a piece of your cord to that length.

Step 2: Tie this piece of cord around your neck like you want the necklace to be. Now cut (or have a friend to it) the back of the necklace in the middle back, at the nape of your neck. Make sure to remember which ends are the necklace, and which ends are the ends of the tie.

Step 3: Clamp the ends of your necklace and attach the jump ring and clasp to the ends. Now you don't have to tie the necklace every time you want to wear it! Super easy.

Step 4 (optional): If you're afraid the knot is going to come undone, put a dab of superglue at the back of it. Viola, you're now super chic!

  3. That's so cute! I'm also really into those ribbon ones that tie into bows, but this is equally cute!
